Dead tree now shedding branches over footpath
Sent to West Northamptonshire Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8153454.
This tree has been dead for some time. It is now deteriorating significantly and dropping bark and branches onto the footpath. I am concerned that the next storm will bring it down, or it will shed a large branch and injure a pedestrian. Many people walk this footpath regularly

A few more days with high winds and the problem may resolve itself! Just hope there are no cars or pedestrians in the vicinity when a big branch, or the whole tree comes down.

Investigation: Ongoing (Reported to a third party) - Thank you for your enquiry. A qualified Highways Inspector has assessed the location and we can confirm that the vegetation is the responsibility of the landowner. In accordance with the WNC Network Management Plan, we will contact the landowner and request they cut back their vegetation within 14 days of receipt of our correspondence. We will reinspect the vegetation to ensure they have complied.

A qualified Highways Inspector has assessed the location and we can confirm that in accordance with the WNC Highways Inspection Manual, the vegetation meets the criteria for a Priority 3 response. We will schedule vegetation clearance to be completed within 28 days. Our current average response time for a Priority 3 is 12 days.
