Chamber lid still loose - not fixed

On September 10, 2025, your team of street works engineers visited this site to address the issue of the loose chamber lid, which was causing a banging noise whenever a vehicle passed over it. Please refer to the previous reports for more details.
As of today, the issue remains unresolved. Your engineers returned to the site to restore the tarmac around the chamber; yesterday however, they did not rectify the actual problem of the loose chamber lid. only replaced the surrounding tarmac- This lid is positioned lower than the carriageway and is divided into two parts. While I do not believe this is a defect, as other drains also have two halves, the noise created when vehicles drive over this chamber results in a loud banging and thudding sound. Due to the local road closures, this road has become very busy, leading to constant noise throughout the day, evening, and early morning hours, which is driving us to distraction and disturbing our sleep. It is exhausting. Could your inspector revisit the site to assess the situation and place a large cone on top of it, along with road signs or any other measures necessary to prevent vehicles from driving over this chamber until the issue is resolved? I am uncertain if a new drain cover is required to ensure it is level with the carriageway.

If repair work is required, it will either be classed as urgent or will be put into a planned programme of works to ensure it is repaired as efficiently as possible.
In some cases a temporary repair will be needed, to make the area safe, then engineers will return to make a permanent repair.
