Incorrect markings

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8149474.

On entry to the roundabout with A420 Swindon to the left, A420 to Oxford straight on and Longcott to the right.

There are 2 lanes.

The left lane markings are correct, the arrow states straight on, with a left turn arrow.

The right lane marking is incorrect, it’s shows an arrow going straight on, which would suggest heading towards A420 to Oxford. Yet the entry to the A420 Oxford is a single lane. So markings suggest 2 cars, 1 in each lane can go to Oxford.

I’m surprised that there haven’t been many an accident due to these markings.

The markings for the right lane should be marked with a right turn arrow for Longcott only.

    S requested please see attached photos. I have included a picture of the road signage along with a picture of the road markings. As you can see the right lane is marked incorrectly.

  • Thank for your report. We have concluded our assessment and this junction has been configured like this for a number of years without any significant accidents. We therefore do not propose to make any changes at this time but will monitor this situation.
