In front of my house at 4 lovelace close
Reported via mobile by Christine Weston at 16:51, Wed 10 September 2025 using FixMyStreet Pro
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council and Vale of White Horse District Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8148473.
Large verge outside the front of my house is overgrown, along with the curb area! The weeds have grown into the curb stones....not only outside my house, but most area's outside of the town centre. Unless they are dealt with, cut back, sprayed with weed killer, as used to be by the Council, the curb stones will need replacing at much more cost. It's lovely to see the flower displays within the town centre, however ....maybe cut back on some flower displays & concentrate on the overall look of Abingdon.

Thank you for your enquiry. Oxfordshire County Council, as the Highway Authority, is ultimately responsible for the maintenance of grass verges alongside the carriageway network throughout Oxfordshire (excluding motorways and trunk roads). Under our new approach, all roadside verges in both rural and urban areas are cut once a year. If necessary, we will trim areas that impede driver visibility more regularly. For more details, you can refer to our Highway Verge and Vegetation Management policy at https://www.oxfordshire.gov.uk/ sites/ default/ files/ file/ roads-and-transport-major-projects/ grasscuttingpolicy.pdf
