Weight on gate too strong

Reported via desktop in the Gate - Damaged/ Missing category anonymously at 12:52, Wed 10 September 2025

Sent to West Northamptonshire Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8147022.

Thank you for replacing the gate with the horse friendly one. However at the moment it is really difficult to get through on a horse and even difficult when unmounted and leading through. The weight on the gate is either too heavy or has been attached too far over so it shuts really quickly. Therefore it’s almost impossible to get through without the horse getting whacked on the bum which most of them don’t like and sends them flying forwards. Also on one side there are so many dense brambles that it means you don’t have an open space to ride into , so the horse has to come out at an angle which means the rider has the added danger of being caught against the post. If the weight could be removed completely then that would solve the main problem.
