Flags Throughout Public Highway
Reported via desktop in the Fly-tipping category anonymously at 10:35, Wed 10 September 2025
Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8145945.
Previous issues related to this have been deleted - but this is still an active problem.
Flags have been placed along Maes Knoll Drive, up on the lamp posts. Somebody has also reported that this breaks the Highway Act 1980 and is a criminal offence, and therefore we expect it to be actioned.

I am British, and this makes me feel unsafe. There is a xenophobic rhetoric in multiple Facebook pages around this area, including posts by one of the people who put these flags up. If only people would educate themselves on British values first and patriotism before putting flags up, they might conclude that putting flags up specifically at this time may not be patriotic at all.

It's been over a week since this was first reported and action has still not been taken. This is a criminal offence with video evidence of the culprit, failure to act is providing an impression that the council does not care about upholding the law and that it's perfectly okay to break it as there's no consequences.
