Tree needs urgent work

Reported via desktop in the Trees category anonymously at 23:46, Mon 8 September 2025

Sent to Lambeth Borough Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8139198.

The huge tree outside the Village Shop by Glenister Park Road not only needs its branches cutting back as touching top of pedestrians heads, but the roots have uprooted the tarmac and the surface is all uneven and a danger to pedestrians.

Updates

  • The tree roots have lifted the tarmac and made the area very uneven for pedestrians, as they have spread quite widely and high.

  • The roots on this tree are a health hazard. They have lifted the blocks and tarmac at least 5” inches some parts. Where the branches are so overgrown the street light makes the pavement very difficult to see. Not only to able bodied people but elderly, people with buggies, mobility scooters and visual impairments.
