Obstructed views due to parked cars

Reported via mobile in the Car parking category anonymously at 20:35, Monday 8 September 2025

Sent to Leicester City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8138746.

Vehicles are parking along Bevan Road near to the dropped kerbs that cross to Monks Crescent. This is a pedestrian route for young school children making their way to and from school. Our eldest is in her final year at Glebelands and we are trying to provide her independence before moving up to secondary school. The vehicles park close to the crossing point and obstruct the views. This is all made worse by the fact that vehicles exceed the speed limit regularly along this stretch of road. Before an accident happens there needs to be some alterations made. Either double yellow lines to prevent the obstruction, pedestrian crossing and certainly speed bumps to slow the traffic. It is a 20mph zone and is rarely observed, before an accidents happen could a review of the road be undertaken.
