I've been in my current home for 7 months and during that time I have noticed there is a continuous and very serious problem of constant dog fouling all along Gryms Dyke and along the "Play area" and Recreation ground/football pitch close by. There is regular (and I mean weekly) fouling and dog mess all along Gryms Dyke (it truly is living up to its name as it is an utterly "grim" place to live indeed). As soon as one dog poo site has been trampled on (or weatherised) and therefore dissipated, there is another poo quickly deposited to replace the diminishing dog turd. This is a monumental problem here on Gryms Dyke and whenever I go out of my front gate, I have to look on the floor for this nastiness (EVERY SINGLE TIME) to try to avoid stepping in it. Its utterly vomit inducing!!! Whenever I have people over, I have to warn them to watch where the hell they are stepping before coming into my home. This is not ok and something must be done to stop it! Obviously no shoes allowed on in my home...that would be asking for serious trouble! Furthermore, the problem is exacerbated by the fact that there are NO STREET LIGHTS IN PRESTWOOD!!?? That obviously makes avoidance at night time much more difficult. I have never lived anywhere like this place, its rediculous! I have also avoided going running on the large recreation ground grassland area because of the risk of running in dog poo! This is absolutely disgusting and something really must be done to deter those that are not cleaning up after their dogs. This is making it a very unenviable place to live.
There is also a huge problem with neigbours cats coming into gardens and depositing their excement at regular intervals. I know this is an entirely different issue and not one that is the councils responsibility, its much harder to control but just to add further reference of how bad the issue is here. Its abhorent and if I had known how bad the problem was before coming here, I never would have moved to this area!
