Report 8117254 Main Road Middleton Cheney opposite Washle Drive What3Words lucky.tumblers.purest

Reported via desktop in the Blocked/Damaged category anonymously at 16:56, Thu 4 September 2025

Sent to West Northamptonshire Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8120358.

Report 8117254 Main Road Middleton Cheney opposite Washle Drive What3Words lucky.tumblers.purest I reported two blocked drains on the 3rd September, after the heavy rain the road floods as the two drains next to each other are full of silt and not allowing effective draining of the water, they cant cope with the heavy rain due to them being blocked. This report didn't register on Fix My Street after I phoned in because I wasn't able to book it online as it was considered an emergency, so I called as requested whilst the road was flooded but as the issue wasn't put on to Fix My Street there and then any chance of WNC seeing the flood has been lost. I called again 4th September and booked this issue again, the water has at this time subsided to the level of the drain lid, still not draining correctly. I received a report at 16.07 04/09 stating that a community steward had visited and there was no flood so the case has been closed, I appreciate that the flood has subsided, however the flood will happen again. I would have expected that the community steward would have looked at both drains on their visit and not just look for a flood and see that both drains are clogged full of silt and subsequently advise on their report that 8117254 is still open and that action has been arranged for the silt to be removed from both drains, but unfortunately the emphasis was on the flood which had subsided and not on the cause of the flood. Please can both drains be cleared as a matter of urgency to remove the silt otherwise the flood will re occur and prompt further emergency calls in to WNC.

  • Still open, via questionnaire, 17:14, Thu 2 October 2025

  • This is related to the previous September report that someone else has reported. The blocked drains on both sides of the road are a perennial problem that , time and time again, you state will be resolved. If the surface water is not drained our, and our neighbours, cellars become flooded. Your operatives admit that there are blockages on both side of the road and have even marked direction and distance in yellow paint but still no action. Needless to say that there are blockages paint has now disappeared.
