Mafeking avenue

I am writing to raise concerns regarding ongoing issues on Mafeking Avenue which are significantly impacting the quality of life for residents. The main problems relate to fox activity in the road and the general lack of maintenance on the street. 1. Fox activity They defecate across the street, including on pavements, walls, and on top of rubbish bins. Due to this the whole street smells of fox urine. This has led to large numbers of fruit flies swarming the pavements, making it extremely unpleasant and at times very hard to walk along without flies swarming around our faces at times. Flies are now entering homes, and we believe this is due to the excessive fox waste along the street. The waste and smell of fox urine are overwhelming. As soon as you drive into the road, the odour is very strong, making the environment unhygienic and unpleasant. Foxes are also appearing on doorsteps and pathways leading directly into homes. Multiple times a day sometimes I have a wet urine puddle or mess on my doorstep, we clean it and they do it again. It is extremely unhygienic. Foxes are regularly climbing onto cars, leaving muddy footprints and sitting/ weeing on the cars causing a nuisance.

Street maintenance The road and pavements are not being maintained to an acceptable standard with the pavements broken and weeds throughout, which I believe exacerbates the situation with the foxes. The entire street requires a deep clean, including jet washing, to properly cleanse and restore hygiene. Request I kindly request that the council investigates this issue urgently and arranges for: A full street clean of the pavements and walls.
