Street lighting obscured by flags, causing reduced visibility at night and distraction to drivers.

Reported via mobile in the Light is dull category anonymously at 12:47, Tue 2 September 2025 using FixMyStreet Pro

Sent to Gloucestershire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8108256.

Along Bodiam Avenue, at the Greenhill Drive roundabout, and surrounding streets, multiple flags have been put up on lampposts. These flags obscure the lighting at night, causing harm to pedestrians as they have to walk unsafely in the dark, and they are less likely to seen by vehicles too. The flags also blow in the wind, creating noise, and distracting drivers. There is already a poor driver issue in this area, speeding and a lack of indicating has already put people at risk, and resulted in the deaths of many household pets. The height these flags are at also suggests a ladder has been used to put them up, which is also a safety issue, and there is footage of this to prove it. Somebody has also claimed that they are responsible for putting these flags up, and has stated their intent to put more up, meaning this issue will continue and more harm will be done as a result.
