• Please give brief details of your complaint or compliment below: I am registering a complaint regarding the lack of tree maintenance for a tree on Blandford Road, next to houses 309, 311 and 313. This tree has not been maintained by the council since 2020 and has been identified as the cause of subsidence issues on the homes, including my own, by the investigations of my then insurer. No action has been taken to maintain this tree or remove it and it is once again causing issues of subsidence to my home this summer. I am concerned that if no action is taken to remove or prune this tree to an acceptable size, and at the very least reduce its water demands the subsidence on my house and neighbouring ones will continue causing further ongoing concern and financial stress. This tree is totally out of scale with the size of other trees on Blandford road and subsequently requires regular maintenance to keep it to an acceptable level that it does not cause issues where its roots particularly are seeking out water as it enlarges. In the last five years, no action has been taken to remove or significantly prune this tree back to maintain it a sensible size and not become a cause of damage to homes nearby. The stress and costs this tree is bringing to my family is intolerable as once again we face this issue, which we thought had been sorted. It further annoys me that I regularly see Bromley Council removing or maintaining trees within the borough, yet this tree does not receive any maintenance and has been left to grow back to a large and dangerous size, which has implications for home owners on the street in the vicinity.
