Cars parked too close to turn off for Elderpark clinic car park
Reported via mobile in the Car parking category anonymously at 23:29, Monday 1 September 2025
Sent to Glasgow City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8105852.
Creating hazard parking nearby each side of junction into Elderpark clinic car park and end of Arklet road near roundabout. Too many near misses as cars emerge from car park.
Lifted from internet: It is is illegal to park within 10 metres (32 feet) of a junction, as it is a breach of The Highway Code Rule 243, which states you MUST NOT park there except in an authorised parking space. This rule applies to prevent dangerous obstruction and to ensure clear visibility for drivers emerging from or turning into the junction

Police Officers can still issue endorsable and non-endorsable fixed penalty notices in a decriminalised area. This is for offences such as dangerous parking, obstruction and stopping within the controlled area of pedestrian crossings. This should be reported by calling 101.
Lifted from another Scottish Council:
A vehicle causing an obstruction is one which has been parked and left unattended in such a way that it is considered to be a hazard to other road or footway users. For example, a vehicle may have been parked on a bend on the carriageway or at a junction, creating a safety hazard to other users; it may have been parked across a footway blocking free passage to pedestrians, particularly those using mobility scooters or with push chairs; or a vehicle may have been parked in front of a driveway blocking access to private or public property.
