Trip hazard to pedestrians on pavement

Reported in the Pavements/footpaths category anonymously at 02:08, Sun 17 April 2016

Sent to Norfolk County Council 2 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 810022.

Location: Eagle House, Bridge St, Downham Market, Norfolk, PE38 9DW. Two faults at this location (see photo). 1. Botched, low quality 'temporary repair' (sic) around water meter, that has been in place for many months. 2. More importantly, loose paving slab next to botched repair. This slab is sticking up and people are starting to stumble on it. Please repair it before someone has a nasty accident. This has been reported as a defect several times yet has been ignored. Please do not wait for someone to suffer an injury and sue the council before you finally repair it.

  • The loose slab has been removed and replaced with a further area of the grotty 'temporary' repair, so while the trip hazard has been removed the whole thing looks even worse than before. Honestly, you could not make this up! All that was needed was to level and reset the paving slab, (and to make a proper repair to the other area) yet we end up with this. Congratulations to all concerned on another botched job. How is anyone expected to have any pride in the area when you carry on like this?

Total disinterest shown by all concerned. Area still has the 'temporary repair' still looks like the botched job it is.
