Road surface sinking

Reported via desktop in the Road resurfacing problem category anonymously at 13:34, Sunday 31 August 2025

Sent to Enfield Borough Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8098184.

The road surface on the Ridgeway approx 0.6 miles from M25 junction 24 is sinking badly causing potential and actual damage to cars and buses. This sinking has become progressively worse recently and is on a bend making the road especially dangerous to cycles and motorcycles.

  • This is still an issue. This is a particularly dangerous issue if you are driving an ambulance on blue lights to one of the London Hospitals and are unfamiliar with that road and its current condition, especially at night, as there are no lights along that section.
