Attaching union and St George’s flags to lampposts without permission, under cover of darkness,is part of an organised national campaign by far right activists. It represents an anti immigration message and weaponises our national flag encouraging prejudice and hatred. Diss is a friendly welcoming town and this message does not represent us.If the council does not want to support such a campaign then the flags need to be removed immediately
