Van parked too close to drive of 77 Coal Hill Lane

Reported via desktop in the Car parking category anonymously at 14:21, Sat 30 August 2025

Sent to Leeds City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8095532.

A van (YJ71 CYA) marked Highway Maintenance has been parked too close to my drive since the evening of 30th August.

I have had great difficulty getting out and am now parked on the road instead of on the drive as usual. I don't fancy trying to drive into my drive and if I do manage it without mishap, I will have great difficulty getting out again.

The van is wide, meaning it is obstructing visability.

The van is parked over the dropped curve area. I need the whole of the dropped curve to get out reasonably comfortably.

In this case I have a step attached to the van and towbar to navigate, which makes it especially difficult.

This is actually a common problem I am having, exacerbated by the angle of my drive.

I often cannot get out during school drop off and pick up time. I have been unable to get out for whole afternoons when there is an event at the rugby club.

I have not reported it before because it has been private vehicles and generally for a short time. This is a large van, which has been parked for an extended period of time and which is unlikely to be gone until Monday.

But I would like something done about this problem, if possible.

I did try the police, but they said to contact the council.
