Pavement being blocked by fly tipping and abandoned wheelie bins

Reported via desktop in the Flytipping category anonymously at 10:28, Wednesday 27 August 2025

Sent to Bristol City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8079406.

Ongoing problem which has been reported multiple times previously. Wheelie bin are being left on the pavement, they don't belong to anyone as they are not taken in and they are not directly outside of anyones property. These bins are being used by the local retailers, other people and are often over flowing blocking the pavement and encourage people to dump rubbish around the bins including large household waste. It has been requested that these bins are removed but it does not seem to happen. Please get them removed.

Updates

  • Thank you for taking the time to report fly- tipping to Bristol City Council. We will aim to remove the fly- tip within 3 days, but this depends on its size, scale, location, or whether the fly tip is hazardous.

Reducing levels of fly tipping is important so please share any evidence of who is doing it with the council.

If you witnessed who fly-tipped the waste or have evidence (CCTV/photo) please call us on 01179222100, or submit this at https://digital.bristol.gov.uk/ streets-travel/ tell-us-about-a-fly-tipping-incident-you-saw #YourCity.YourCall

  • Still open, via questionnaire, 17:28, Wednesday 24 September 2025

  • You have said reducing levels of fly tipping is important, but you haven't fixed the problem as the wheelie bins are still being left on the pavement which encourages other people to dump rubbish at the location, they can't belong to residents as they should be taken in they are just used as communal bins.
