Spothole beginning on Wootton Road
Reported via desktop in the Potholes / Highway Condition category by Peter Shellard at 13:33, Mon 25 August 2025
Sent to West Northamptonshire Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8070138.
I first noticed this a week ago - a small hole in the road, but which gets bigger each day. If unrepaired, it will eventually cause a crash. It's almost opposite the gate below Lower Farm, as per the map, in the road towards Wootton from Quinton, and the hole is just under the left wheel as you drive over it. Thanks..

This needs fixing asap. When I first reported it on 25 August it was small. It's now a foot wide and getting deeper each day. Unless it's fixed very soon, someone will get a wheel caught in it and have an accident on this sharp bend.
Thanks

Pothole has now eroded further and cars are having to use the other side of the road to avoid the pothole.

You've sent me an update saying it will be fixed on or before 25 February next year. If you leave it that long, the hole will be five times the size it is now (and it is already beginning to cause danger as cars move over to the other lane to avoid it) and will become a serious hazard to life.

Hole has now further deteriorated, narrowly avoided a head on collision this afternoon as a car swerved to avoid the pothole.

This hole is getting bigger. You can't see it in the dark, but you can feel it. People are swerving to miss this hole. It is going to cause an accident if nothing is done about it.

I've had the same email three times from you in recent days - that this pothole will be repaired on or before 25 February next year. As all the respondents have pointed out, it is widening and deepening fast, and is now a real danger to life. Please act sooner.

After 3 messages saying this pothole would be repaired on or before 25 February 2026 - which I said was far too late in view of the danger it poses to drivers - I now have a message from you saying that it will be dealt with on or before 24 June 2025. What on earth is going on?

Pothole was still there yesterday morning 29/10/25 four days after its scheduled completion for repair. Still a hazard.
