Roadwork Signs Incorrectly Placed and Wrong Information
Reported via desktop in the Information board identifying emergency contact company/number not displayed category anonymously at 18:20, Sun 24 August 2025 using FixMyStreet Pro
Sent to Gloucestershire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8067973.
The signs indicating the road closure on North Place are incorrectly positioned. Traffic approaching the junction of North Place and Swindon Road from the West are only aware of the roadworks when the sign around the corner into North Place becomes visible. By then, drivers are, either, committed and have to u-turn or attempt to turn back into traffic. However, traffic approaching from the East on Fairview Road have signs indicating that North Place is closed with a sign indicating roadworks and an arrow indicating right. These signs are wrongly positioned and irrelevant as it already a No Right Turn into North Place from Fairview Road. These signs need to be repositioned to the West of the junction to correctly advise drivers of the closed road.
