The whole stretch of Brockhampton Lane from the barriers to The Hyde lane end is in a terrible state. The road is extremely uneven. The most recent repairs are pathetic. There’s a length of tarmac been placed which in itself is extremely uneven, the edges have given way already and the huge dip beyond was untouched and the repair finished to that.

The section on the long straight is particularly uneven and when cycling you are compelled to go along the middle of the road. However recently cracks have opened in the middle of the road which are wide enough to swallow a cycle tyre. Highly dangerous and the same has happpened at the other side of the railway crossing. Is it not time this road was fully resurfaced? Many cyclists go along here in preference to the dangerous Hyde lane. This must be the worst road in Gloucestershire. Please do something!

Thank you for reporting a pothole.
First, a safety inspector will visit the location to assess whether a repair needs to be completed and plan the work needed. Works are prioritised based on the urgency of the situation. The council aim to repair all significant potholes (more than 4cm deep and 30cm wide) within 28 days.
In some cases a temporary repair will be needed, to make the area safe, then engineers will return to make a permanent repair.

This pothole report has now been passed to the Safety Inspection Team for assessment.
A safety inspector will make an assessment of the work needed and they will consider a number of factors, including the flow of traffic and the size of the pothole.
If repair work is required, the pothole will either be classed as urgent or will be put into a planned programme of works to ensure it is repaired as efficiently as possible. We aim to complete the repair work within 28 days.
In some cases a temporary repair will be needed, to make the area safe, then engineers will return to make a permanent repair.
An update on the outcome of the safety inspection will be provided.

I am pleased to inform you this pothole has been repaired.
Gloucestershire County Council is responsible for almost 6,000km of roads and each one is routinely inspected (on a monthly, quarterly or annual basis, depending on the type of road). Issues can develop quickly in between these inspections and residents help by reporting problems online.
