Original road surface breaking up around

We have had at least two teams of contractors digging trenches to install fiber communications equipment over the last 2-4 years. The original road surface was a red colour chipping surface. The reconstructed surface after the trench work was a more compacted hot application type material black in colour. The edges of the trenches have broken down resulting in the original road surface becoming broken up. The surface is very loose with lots of large stones being dislodged and pot holes being formed.

  • Investigation: Completed (Defect Found), Defect Repair: Not Started - Thank you for your enquiry. A qualified Highways Inspector has assessed the location and we can confirm that in accordance with the WNC Highways Inspection Manual, the defect meets the requirement for a Priority 4 repair. We will schedule a repair to be completed within 26 weeks. Our current average response time for a Priority 4 repair is 59 days.
