Overdue drain cleaning
Reported via desktop in the Blocked Drain / Gully category anonymously at 16:06, Sat 9 August 2025
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8002131.
I have reported this for the last two years and now, these photos are a few weeks old, the greenery is now completely out of hand! You advised that they will be cleared as follows "gully emptying in the fourth quarter of this financial year, January to March 2026!" this is madness - when winter comes this road is always flooded making it nearly impossible for people to get in to Bicester on foot or bike, when you walk in the cars will spread the water it cannot wait until next spring it needs doing before winter comes so that the water can drain away - as it is next to a flood plane you can imagine the issues that have happened in the last few years and your system says have not been touched since 2019 so that will be 7 years before a man with a shovel gets in and digs the three drains out? Considering I had 4 men come to my street (Lapwing close) and cut back a hedge and stood around chatting for hours I could have taken them to show them the blocked drains on London rd I clean the drain out nearest my house, as do my neighbours but you are responsible for this main rd and it is now a crazy state! someone needs to go and have a look at the three drains on London (you cannot miss them its like someone has planted small trees in the drains now...
