Parking issues due to lack of restrictions on Caerphilly Road, Cardiff.

Reported via desktop in the Car parking category anonymously at 16:07, Fri 8 August 2025

Sent to Cardiff Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7999219.

There are insufficient parking spaces for residents on this part of Caerphilly Road. The current lack of any restrictions exacerbates the problem as you have Birchgrove Carpets staff parking at least 2-3 vehicles every day of the week and another property which owns at least 5 (yes, 5) cars and who, despite benefiting from a 3 vehicle drive, generally leave a max 1-2 of those cars on the drive and play Tetris with the rest, taking up already limited spaces as soon as other residents leave or monopolising certain spaces by moving the cars around so spaces remain permanently occupied. Furthermore, spaces are used by both customers and delivery people for the local Canton Chop Suey Chinese restaurant. Implementing residents permits or a similar scheme, with a maximum restriction per household (1-2) would go some way to resolving this longstanding and frustrating problem.
