Road surface deteriorating

Reported via desktop in the Roads and Carriageways category anonymously at 12:37, Wednesday 6 August 2025 using FixMyStreet Pro

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7986167.

Firstly I would like to thank the Council for improving a number of unclassified roads with new surfacing in West Oxfordshire recently.

However the section of highway from Combe northwards to the junction with the Stonesfield to the A44 Road is in my view worthy of similar treatment. This road has been deteriorating over a long period due to vehicles over-running the carriageway edge. A lot of this over-running is due to traffic meeting and attempting to pass regular busses (S3from Oxford) and the road width being inadequate. The deep ruts are extremely dangerous to all road users especially cyclists. The work needed to repair and improve this road would I expect would be quite expensive as edge strengthening would no doubt be required. However in my view something needs to be done urgently to avoid further damage and protect the road users.

Please could an inspector be asked to investigate and report on this matter.
