Is it legal to park a mobile trailer used to sell foodstuffs outside one's house?

Reported via desktop in the Car Parking category anonymously at 10:41, Tue 5 August 2025

Sent to Lewisham Borough Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7981136.

Our neighbour opposite has said that this would be removed and was only a temporary situation. The 'caravan' has no number plate and has now been parked for weeks. It is of course difficult because one does not want to be a 'snitch' but as well as being quite an eye sore it also makes it very difficult for those living next door to park their car. We live in No. 48 Cliffview Road.

Updates

  • Details passed to Highways, Enforcemenrt and parking

State changed to: not the council's responsibility

Posted by Lewisham Borough Council at 10:12, Fri 15 August 2025

  • Could Lewisham Council confirm despite it saying it is not their responsbility if this trailer is paying for permit parking within this road?

The trailer is taking up multiple parking spaces, blocking a driveway and obstructing natural light in to houses.
