The trees obscure speed signs and motorists vision

Reported via desktop in the Trees category anonymously at 17:04, Mon 4 August 2025

Sent to Luton Borough Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7978299.

Just past the roundabout on the Turnpike Drive side of the A6 is a very overgrown tree. It obscures the 40 MPH speed sign for vehicles coming into Luton and as there is no speed camera means motorists are travelling too fast. It also means that vehicles wanting to turn out of Turnpike Drive do not have a clear view of traffic coming from Bedford. This is already a very busy roundabout where far too many vehicles exceed the speed limit on the A6 and the trees add to the likelihood of a serious accident. As there is no alternative entrance to Turnpike Drive this is a concern to residents if an accident closed the sole road in and out. These trees have not been cut back since before COVID in 2020
