Re. the reported broken gully grating. The problem was inspected the same day (31st July ) as reported, & a " cone" was positioned over the open drain. At this point the inspector could simply have noted that a 300mm diameter replacement was required. On 13th August about 6 operatives arrived in 2 vehicles with a 300mm SQUARE grating which they attempted to fit by chipping out parts of the actual gully. Obviously this did not work, & they then sat around for over i hour before erecting a barrier round the cone & leaving. They told my neighbour that a 300mm diameter was no longer available. This is NOT correct as most drainage merchants offer this. ( C £35 ish ). So a simple 1 hour job has now cost the council in excess of c £300 & still not remedied. Poor performance all round. When can i expect this to be resolved, & get an answer re. the completion Please? Paul Berry. The Old Barn, Annas Lane.Dalscote.

Can you please provide the replacement gully grating urgently. This was reported 2 months ago & nothing has been done yet. It is a simple " drop into place" grating. No tools, plant, equipment or fixings are needed. These gratings are readily available at a decent builders merchant. Please provide an update. Thank you. Paul Berry.

Investigation: Completed (Defect Found) - Thank you for your enquiry. A qualified Highways Inspector has assessed the location, this area is unadopted by highways and is a private road therfore the gully would need to be replaced by the landowner.
