Overgrown sharp branches preventing safe use of pavement
Reported via mobile in the Rights of way category anonymously at 10:07, Thu 31 July 2025
Sent to Hampshire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7958956.
Every year the owners do not chop back the sharp branches from this hedge meaning walking in the road. I have experienced clothes being scraped and face being scratched where it’s hard to see all the sharp branches as you try to pass. I think it’s deliberate by the owners to prevent people using the pavement outside their house

There has been some minor trimming of the worst prickles that would scratch your face but it’s already growing out again as it was not pruned properly or carefully to avoid damage to pedestrians

The growth of the very sharp pyracantha bush has accelerated with the weather and is continuing to grow fast. It remains dangerous and can break the skin and cause infection
