Problem worsening gradually shaking nearby houses from foundations up

Reported via mobile in the Roads category anonymously at 19:28, Wed 30 July 2025

Sent to Bristol City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7956710.

This dip has been forming gradually for years, the issue stemmed from when Bristol water dig up the road and didn’t pack it all back in properly, a dip formed almost immediately, and then that has just spread over time. It’s starting to damage the property, cracks are forming, I hear the shakes, I feel the shakes when trying to sleep, I have reported this before but nothing has been done. This is creating a nuisance to my property and believe it is beyond the legal limits of private nuisance through the form of vibrations from the formed dip. This is a dangerous highway condition and something needs to be done, there is no signs that say watch out for the bump, and it is only time until a motorcyclist gets thrown off from hitting the dip, let alone causing damage to my property from the huge buses hitting it at DOUBLE the speed limit of the road. I have videos of the buses violently shaking my property but cannot upload here.

  • Still not heard anything, this problem has been consistently worsening for 3 years now and now starting to impact my property by cracking around the corners of the front bay windows. I feel the impact of the buses when watching tv and when sleeping

  • Still haven’t heard anything, the situation is really bad, I can hear and feel violent shakes when the buses and Lorry’s hit the dip. The dip needs to be levelled out; it’s just getting deeper and deeper and deeper and I’ve noticing new cracks all over the house
