Water leak on road
Reported via mobile in the Flooding of a road or pavement category anonymously at 13:35, Sun 27 July 2025
Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7938750.
There's some sort of water leak and always puddles on the road. Dread to think how much water is leaking away and being wasted.

Wessex water phoned me up to say they had investigated and there was no leak.and I should report it again if the problem persisted. Attached is a photo of the original leak, which is still there. Wessex water want residents to save precious water, but can do that themselves.

The 'leak' is not a water leak, it is a spring. This has been here for at least 50 years. However, in the past year the amount of water that has been seeping up through the road surface has increased dramatically, and is now continually running 30m down the road into a storm drain. The flow rate is estimated to be at least a litre a minute. This water freezes in the winter and makes the road trecherous. The road surface is erupting and clay and dirt are being washed out of the cracks. I am especially concerned that a sink hole might be being created underneath. Please fix this problem by draining the spring into the adjacent sewer.
