Pavement blocked, no alternative put in place

Reported via desktop in the Obstruction blocking access category anonymously at 13:58, Fri 25 July 2025

Sent to Bristol City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7932268.

At the junction of Overton Road and North Road BS6 where contractors are creating pedestrian area they have blocked off the pavement and are using barriers to make safe new planters. However they are telling pedestrians to walk out into the road without putting any barriers to make a safe walkway. Planters are prioritised over the safety of people walking past junction

  • Cones and wood left by contractors need to be removed - seeing as they’ve over done the double yellow lines so that we’ve now lost probably 20 spaces for people living here it would be appreciated if they can at least clear this space for a car. Almost everyone that walks past is commenting that the yellow lines do not need to be this long if this can be assessed too that would be good.
