Request for Access Protection Measures

Reported via mobile in the Car parking category anonymously at 18:52, Tue 22 July 2025

Sent to Rhondda Cynon Taf Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7918146.

I am writing to formally raise a concern regarding persistent access issues in Taff St. -the service lane that leads to behind Boots Pharmacy at 82-84 Taff St.

This lane is consistently blocked by parked vehicles, making it extremely difficult for essential drivers — particularly medication delivery drivers — to access or exit the area. This not only disrupts critical deliveries but also causes regular inconvenience to staff and other individuals who rely on access to this lane for work.

Despite repeated attempts to manage this informally, the issue has persisted. I am requesting the council’s support in implementing a more permanent solution — such as painting the pavement with appropriate road markings (e.g. “Keep Clear” or “No Parking”) or installing a barrier or bollard system to ensure access is protected at all times.

Please see the attached image which clearly shows the problem. I would be grateful if someone from the council could review this situation and advise on possible next steps to resolve this ongoing issue.
