The proposed reduction of black locust tree in the photo at Brook House, 35 Lonsdale Road

Reported via mobile in the Trees category anonymously at 17:37, Tuesday 22 July 2025

Sent to Richmond upon Thames Borough Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7917847.

I live at Brook House, 35 Lonsdale Road. SW13 9JP. This black locust tree supports a wealth of wildlife. A blackbird has lived there for years and sings for me and the whole neighbourhood for hours. It fills the whole street with glorious song that lifts the spirit. It is a beautiful tree which enhances the neighbourhood and garden and is clearly visible from the street.

Recently I filmed a greater spotted woodpecker feeding on the tree from my window. It is a huge source of joy in a world full of concrete. Especially in my locality where there have been so many building works recently.

Next door they have chopped down all the trees barring one large magnolia in the rear garden.

Please protect this fragile environment from further damage.
