Dangerously positioned potholes on blind bend

Exact location provided in this report. Multiple potholes on blind left hand bend when travelling south on the road to Welford. Potholes are unavoidable because they are where your vehicle wheel tracks go, you can't move to the side because you will be on the wrong side of the road. Because a car is under load going around the left hand bend when you hit the potholes it unsettles the car and could cause someone to lose control. Have already been present for far too long and they need fixing this week. If nothing else but to cover your own liability. Please address the awful state of roads in this area where seemingly very good condition roads are dressed with gravel at great expense and dangerous potholes are left to get worse month after month. Having been a councillor for the local area I understand how bad this is and it needs an entire change of thinking and response times on potholes. Some new machines relaying a road in one part of the county is one thing but this lower level of damage needs addressing just as much.

Thank you for reporting a pothole.
First, a safety inspector will visit the location to assess whether a repair needs to be completed and plan the work needed. Works are prioritised based on the urgency of the situation. The council aim to repair all significant potholes (more than 4cm deep and 30cm wide) within 28 days.
In some cases a temporary repair will be needed, to make the area safe, then engineers will return to make a permanent repair.

This pothole report has now been passed to the Safety Inspection Team for assessment.
A safety inspector will make an assessment of the work needed and they will consider a number of factors, including the flow of traffic and the size of the pothole.
If repair work is required, the pothole will either be classed as urgent or will be put into a planned programme of works to ensure it is repaired as efficiently as possible. We aim to complete the repair work within 28 days.
In some cases a temporary repair will be needed, to make the area safe, then engineers will return to make a permanent repair.
An update on the outcome of the safety inspection will be provided.

I am pleased to inform you this pothole has been repaired.
Gloucestershire County Council is responsible for almost 6,000km of roads and each one is routinely inspected (on a monthly, quarterly or annual basis, depending on the type of road). Issues can develop quickly in between these inspections and residents help by reporting problems online.
