Give Way Sign at junction of Pool Lane with Crewe Road

Reported via desktop in the Conditions of Signs category anonymously at 22:58, Sat 19 July 2025 using FixMyStreet Pro

Sent to Cheshire East Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7903693.

Give Way sign no longer visible from a reasonable distance due to overgrown hedge on both Pool Lane due to height, see accompanying picture. Additionally, due to the width of the hedge along Pool Lane pedestrians wishing to cross Pool Lane heading away from Winterley Pool have to be almost halfway across the road before they are able to clearly see if it is safe to continue to cross. Furthermore the hedge that runs parallel to Crewe Road is significantly overgrown and stretches well across the pavement. CEC is asked to either arrange to reduce the hedges along both Pool Lane and adjacent to Crewe Road or liaise with the owner of the hedge to do so themselves. This will help reduce the risks to pedestrians from passing vehicles unable to see them due to the size of the hedges. Thank you.
