Union street, york street & Sherborne street.
Union and York street are extremely narrow roads and since I have moved here a month ago… I’ve seen 8 cars being scratched by cars passing by or parking… including my own twice. It is not safe and parents from a nearby school parking in a rush does not help the situation. In addition, the corner leaving York street onto Sherborne street has had footpaths widened that do not allow for larger cars to smoothly turn the corner so they are often forced to use the curb to avoid touching the parked cars. Ideally the pavements in these areas need narrowing or parking should be restricted on one side of the road. I do not feel safe parking my car on this road or any roads nearby due to this issue and have spoken to neighbours that has expressed the same concern. I understand that parking is limited in these areas, however, hearing how many people feel anxious about parking their cars, it needs to be address, especially considering how many cars and vans I’ve seen trying to speed through this road (York st) in an unsafe manner.
