A51 outside Snugburys Icecream shop

Reported via desktop in the Carriageway category anonymously at 11:48, Fri 11 July 2025 using FixMyStreet Pro

Sent to Cheshire East Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7862031.

Following yet another accident outside Snugburys, this time involving serious injuries, all emergency services including 2 helicopters, and the road closed for several hours, is anything being done to persuade/order Snugburys to improve the access to their site. Over the years this highly successful business has grown to the state that their entrance, which is onto a busy fast road with poor vision, is now woefully inadequate, and accidents and near misses frequent. Now with Reaseheath Engineering College virtually opposite, it is a highly dangerous piece of road. College students, mostly young inexperienced drivers, and others in and out of the entrance all day, this is another accident waiting to happen. Are there any plans to reduce the speed limit from 50 to 40, or even 30, construct road splays or do anything else to help prevent the inevitable fatality
