Junction of Linley Road with Linley Lane
Reported via desktop in the Permanent Traffic Lights category by Alec Raven at 18:26, Thu 10 July 2025
Sent to Cheshire East Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7859067.
Shortly before 10pm on Sunday evening, on an empty road travelling by motorcycle south towards Stoke, having accelerated away from the new Sainsbury's roundabout, approaching junction with green lights - they change to red before just as I get there so I stop. As it's dark, it is easy to see the red light on Linley Road go green, but it didn't. There were no cars waiting to emerge and definitely no pedestrians around, yet all of the lights remained on red for an excessive time. I didn't know what to do. There was no other traffic. Eventually, after several minutes, a car came up behind me and the lights changed to green so I could go. This has happened to me at this junction before but I didn't have to wait so long. It seems that a motorcycle is ignored by the sensors. Why are these lights on red for all directions? Surely they should prioritise the main road?
