Homeless encampment

Reported via mobile anonymously at 07:21, Tue 8 July 2025

Sent to Glasgow City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7824806.

There is a homeless encampment set up outside our flats and this has been there for months now. This is to right of the Tradeston bridge as you travel across it southbound.

There are several tents together which appear more fixed in nature with metal structures.

They are an eyesore and a nuisance to our flats. My wife is also afraid of walking past this encampment, particularly at night.

Is it legal for them to be camped there permanently? Is there any way this can be moved on? We are in fear of the inhabitants and the strangers they attract during the day.

Updates

  • This encampment is still growing in size and they have even added separate tent advertised as a public toilet. This makes us feel even more unsafe about the area. This is surely a public health issue with the potential for human waste to be scattered around the area.

It’s neither safe nor sanitary, and it needs to be dealt with.
