Cars and vans parked on pavements causing multiple obstructions Anchor Close

Reported via mobile in the Car parking category anonymously at 07:43, Monday 7 July 2025

Sent to Adur District Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7818669.

Vans and cars parked on pavements meaning pedestrians having to walk in road. So narrow now a fire truck could not get through. Cars and vans parked on tactile markers for partially sighted on crossings. We have witnessed several near misses with children trying to cross the road unable to see oncoming traffic. Please intervene before there is a fatality.

  • This situation is worse than ever. Delivery vans unable to get through, an appliance or ambulance would certainly not if required. We have had a situation where parked cars were driven into due to restricted access and a week ago, a child was hit by a car. Luckily this was travelling at such a slow pace the child was unhurt. He could not be seen due to the van and car blocking the view parked on the corners. I'd imagine the authorities are awaiting a fatality before any action is taken.
