Large weeds blocking dual use cycle and footpath causing potential fatal danger

Reported via iOS in the Vegetation & maintenance category anonymously at 16:35, Sunday 6 July 2025

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7816899.

On the section between Benson and Dorchester the dual use cycle/ footpath is blocked in numerous places by overgrown large weeds.

The extent of the weeds is so bad in places that the path is rendered impassable.

This could have the effect of causing cyclists or pedestrians to fall into the south bound carriageway. Or to have to step around the foliage onto the road. The A4074 is a particularly narrow, busy and hostile environment to non vehicular traffic.

This is a real danger to life.

I had to stop and physically pull out and trample weeds so that my nephew could safely pass.
