Outside the property Longcroft on Withinlee Rd, Prestbury, SK10 4AT

Reported via desktop in the Gully/Drainage category anonymously at 21:59, Wed 2 July 2025 using FixMyStreet Pro

Sent to Cheshire East Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7800104.

United Utilities have been exploring a leak causing water to flow continuously down Withinlee Road. The issue is right outside our drive but not on our property.

After excavating for some time on Tuesday 1 July, they discovered the drain pipe has a huge leak. We have a video of this but I'm unable to upload it. They pumped out the water and filled the hole, but advised me (even though it isn't on my land), that I should notify the council (as it is their issue) and the council would need to rectify this urgently as it was a serious leak.

When United Utilities came today (2 July) to fill the hole, the hole itself was already filled again with a huge amount of water. The road now has a 'road closed' sign which is massively inconvenient. It has also only been filled temporarily until the problem is fully resolved - therefore it remains a hazard (because it hasn't been filled properly) and is also restrictive to traffic and looks unsightly right outside our property.

This needs urgent attention please. I understand from United Utilities, that they have also handed this over to you as work/investigation needed urgently.

We moved into the property in Feb 2024 and noticed running water on the road then. It has been consistent ever since.
