Sound school flashing 20mph light not working for Months

Reported via mobile in the Conditions of Signs category anonymously at 09:16, Wed 2 July 2025 using FixMyStreet Pro

Sent to Cheshire East Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7795505.

Subject: Urgent Action Required – Unresolved Safety Issue Outside Sound School This issue has remained unresolved since the original case (7479164) was raised on 25th April regarding the flashing 20mph school warning lights outside Sound School on the approach from Aston. Despite an update on 19th May stating a job had been scheduled, it is now 2nd July and the lights remain non-functional. In that time, cars and trucks continue to speed through the area at 40mph every morning, directly past a school junction heavily used by children and families. There has also been a recent accident at the junction during school hours. While it's unclear whether this was directly due to the faulty lights, it strongly reinforces the immediate need for action. This is a critical safety concern. Someone needs to take ownership of this issue now and ensure the lights are urgently repaired and functioning to alert motorists to slow for the school and junction
