Beckford road in Aldertton was resurfaced in 2024 using the chip and tar method. As a result of that new covering, the road has been left with excessive amounts of loose chippings - which are considerably more concentrated along the edges of the road by the curbs. In the hot weather, the tar melts and our cars get covered in tar, in the cooler weather, the loose chippings cause continual stone chipping to our cars. We have also trodden tar through the house as these stones stick to our shoes and our pets feet. Over time, a number of road sweepers have swept the road, but all that achieves is to concentrate the build-up of stone chippings alongside the edges of the roads making parking on the roadside hazardous. Cyclists using the roads are also affected, as the build up of gravel makes the surface unstable and unsafe. Parking on the side of the roads leads to stones in our tyres and chipped paintwork when we drive off. It's reached a point where we now avoid parking on the road at all costs, but that isn't always possible. I don't think it's unreasonable to ask for this to be rectified, for the benefit of all residents. This is dangerous and unacceptable.
