Thank you for your e-mail regarding the street lighting outside your property at the above. The street lighting would be designed to the British Standard, the design would have been carried out by either Oxfordshire County Council (OCC) on behalf of the developer or a third party consultant which OCC would need to approve. This should be carried out at the beginning stages of the legal agreement with OCC but all communications with potential purchasers would be through the developers as they would be installing and maintaining the street lights until at such time the development is adopted as highway. This streetlight is currently the responsibility of the developer.

This street light is outside the development on the B480 and is still live with wires exposed. This is not on the Chalgrove meadow development.

The damaged lamp post is not in the housing development but on the highway. It needs to be made safe and removed as a matter of urgency. The cables exposed at the base are live 230 volt, these have been tested by a traffic light engineer and considers are a danger to life if touched by a child or animal. This incident needs to be addressed urgently as a matter of health and safety to the public.
