Overgrown tree
Reported via desktop in the Tree touching building category anonymously at 11:51, Sat 28 June 2025 using FixMyStreet Pro
Sent to Bristol City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7777668.
This Sorbus tree is currently 4.6 metres from my property, 1.6 metres in girth and considerably in excess of 6 metres tall. Branches from the tree come within 30cm of our bedroom window. The same tree was implicated in subsidence of the front wall of the house in 1993. The Council accepted partial liability for the subsidence and paid in excess of £7,000 in compensation towards the repair costs. Since that time, no effective action has been taken by the Council to maintain the tree or limit its spread, height and growth.
I have had no response to registered letters sent to the Council requesting action to prune or replace the tree with a smaller tree less likley to cause damage.
