Roughly 15 potholes spread across a width of road
Reported via mobile in the Pothole category anonymously at 09:31, Wednesday 25 June 2025
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7760183.
It’s impossible to drive along this stretch without hitting a pothole. Shortly after leaving New Yatt there’s a stretch that has been resurfaced twice in the last year, but each time the resurfacing has excluded this stretch which is riddled with potholes. Bearing in mind it’s on a 60mph lane, newbies to the area will smash over these and cause horrendous damage to their tyres and suspension. All the locals in the know daren’t exceed 2mph to drive over this stretch as it’s impossible to avoid any of the multiple potholes. The whole bit needs resurfacing. It’s a real danger to drivers especially given that it’s a narrow lane and if you hit the section when a car is approaching it could be very dangerous. Please please fix it!

This section of road is a disgrace. The section just past this to the T junction with Hatfield Pitts lane was resurfaced with chippings recently, but no attention given to this area. Appalling!

The inaction to get this stretch of road fixed is way beyond neglect now. Several residents and motorists have highlighted the appalling state of this road via Fix My Street during the past two years and each time the report just gets closed down without action and then messages get sent suggesting it is ok to leave it. So what's it going to take for you to finally just fix the road? A large legal claim or worse a bad accident? The anger and frustration of residents is utterly justified. Stop ignoring the problem. Stop ignoring the pleas of road users. It is your job to solve this, so get on with it.
