Trees blocking sunlight

Reported via mobile in the Report a tree problem category anonymously at 19:11, Monday 23 June 2025 using FixMyStreet Pro

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7752287.

The trees and bushes in the green area around the areas of 24, 98 and 99 Andersey Way, Abingdon OX14 5NW are massively overgrown and encroaching onto residents property and onto roadsides. This has been an ongoing issue for some years. The maintenance team are always very reluctant at maintaining this area. Aside from grass cutting, very little is ever done to keep this area tidy. The trees have grown so tall that they block sunlight in gardens for the majority of the day. Thus not allowing for the proper growth of grass and flowers etc in gardens.

  • Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention. I have visited the location and assessed the trees. The trees present are the responsibility of the adjacent landowner and not by the County Council. You need to contact the landowner to request any works. If you do not know the landowner, I advise that you access the Land Registry, to find details of the adjacent landowner to progress your enquiry with them. The report will now be closed on Fix My Street.
